Un Mar de oportunidades
A Sea of Opportunities is a project aimed atshowing the job opportunities offered by our port, coastal, and maritime navigation sector, , with the main goal of capturing the interest of adolescents facing integration difficulties. The Raval-based association IMPULSEM strives to train these young people so they can find decent work, as well as to empower women and girls. What these young people need are ideas and motivation to work in this environment.
Activities carried out during the project
1. General information session on job opportunities in the maritime and sailing sector.
2. Individual construction of a handplane for bodysurfing.
3. Construction of a surfboard and a bodyboard.
4. Visit to a shipyard specializing in the handcrafted, eco-sustainable production of boats and surfboards.
5. Outing on the sailing vessel Barcelona (FNB-UPC) and completion of the surfboard and handplane.
6. Practical day at Barceloneta beach featuring surfing, paddle boarding, and bodysurfing.
